Bahia Tanit

Aktualisiert: 30. Okt. 2021

Bahia Beach Club and Chiringuito in Torre del Mar. Some prefer the BereBere Beach Club next door, others love Bahia Beach. How is our experience?

"The Great Spanish Sun Lounger test" is unstoppable due to the wonderful warm weather in October. We have been on testing duty again and chose the Bahia Beach in Torre del Mar. Bahia Beach - formerly known as Tanit - is located next door to Bere Bere, and people prefer either the one, or the other. Personal choice? We went with 4 ladies and checked it out.

Bahia Beach

Arriving at 11 am it was quite a surprise that a lot of sun loungers were occupied already. We did manage to get our 4 loungers front row at the sea. Thick mattresses made the loungers super comfortable - 10 out of 10 points.

It was a warm and sunny day at the beach, but the waves were massive! We could not get into the water and were wondering where these big waves are coming from. Waves come from the wind and there was no wind at the beach. Answer: There must be wind 50 kilometers at the sea. With almost bated breath we watched people trying to get into the water, most struggled and decided against it - it was simply too dangerous. Later in the afternoon it was a bit better, and I went swimming - but still quite careful.

And relax....

We relaxed, chatted, and enjoyed the lively atmosphere. One o'clock = wine o'clock and we managed to order from a waiter at the beach! He did not go around and offered to take orders, but when we waved he came over. Using an electronic POS system, our order was sent directly to the bar and our wine arrived quickly, nicely presented by the waiter. That's a 10 out of 10 points, as we were missing beach service in a lot of other beach clubs.

Lunchtime

Two o'clock was lunchtime. The restaurant was super busy, but with a well-trained staff, it worked smoothly. The menu was a QR code on the table. I did not manage to open the QR code as WiFi only works when you either log in using your Facebook account, or you put in your email address. I don't like being asked for personal details to use WIFI, hence I had no Internet to open the QR code. Solution: The waiter brought an Ipad. That's great customer service, I liked it. The menu itself is available in various languages, we had a French version, looked at English, and ordered in Spanish.

As usual, we selected one dish each to share. Our highlight was the 'Gyozas de Langostino' at 13 Euro, a Spanish version of DimSum. Super tasty. The 'Tataki de Vaca' at 13.50 Euro was nice but was missing an 'Oomph' (like the Wasabi ice cream at Bossa Playa last week). 'Falafel Bowl' 11 Euro good but not spectacular, and 'Wok Langostinos' very good. All-in-all: Good food, good service, and super house wine served in a lovely blue bottle 14 Euro.

Altogether it was a very relaxed day in a busy and bubbly beach club. We were not charged for the sun loungers which are usually 5.50 Euro each. I am not sure if this was a mistake and was simply forgotten. Or if sun loungers were free when eating lunch? I was told sun loungers are free from October ?!

All together we rate Bahia Beach 8.7 out of 10 points.

High scores were given for beach service, food, and house wine, fewer points were given for "No toilet paper at ladies". In the ranking of "The Great Spanish Sunlounger test" Bahia Beach makes it 4th place which is a great achievement. We'll be back!

Please note: All reviews we do are not advertising which makes them 100% authentic.

We always pay for our visits! We had discussed asking for a freebie, free lunch, or free sun loungers. But we decided against it because you are trapped and can't review honestly.
