Lockdown Diary Day7

If your daily highlight becomes taking a shower!
Day7 in lockdown. The weather in Andalucia isn't great, and we are forced to sit indoors all day. That's not helping. But mother nature enjoyed the rain last night, and the night before. Beautiful spring flowers popping up, and the air is fresh and clean. It's about 17 degrees.
Today, the lockdown has been extended by the Spanish government until Easter-Sunday, April 12th. We are not surprised, we expected that. Actually, we expect another extension until the end of April. We are getting used to it, and have developed new "highlights": Shopping! The next shopping trip has been scheduled for Tuesday, and this time its my turn. Whoo-Hoo! Never thought that I am getting excited to go shopping 2 days in advance! We already sent WhatsApp messages to neighbours and asked what they need from the supermarket and pharmacy.
And another highlight: Taking a shower! I must admit that we get a bit lazy being at home day and night. The jogging pants are the daily dress, and why worry about make-up and hair too much? Hence, you can get excited about taking a shower, too. This includes changing clothes and changing the colour of the jogging pants - hejHo!
Driving through Europe during Corona: Our Swedish friends Hedvig & Peter left Malaga yesterday (Saturday) morning to drive (!) home to Sweden. First overnight Bordeaux. Today they are heading on to Karlsruhe, Germany. Hedvig reports "No border passport control from Spain to France yesterday. In Bordeaux we stayed in the hotel for dinner. Now (2pm) have about 200 km to Lyon. According to the GPS we should be at our hotel in Karlsruhe around 8 pm tonight. We’ve just had a toilet break at a gas station. A few German camper vans, that’s it."
There will be more expats leaving Spain as the Campsites are closing!
Thanks Julia for your report about your daily life: "I'm enjoying my daily online Scrabble game with a friend a couple of miles away..plus twice weekly popchoir sessions and hopefully online Paracise next week! I've set up a group chat to support my 82yr old Dad who is self isolating in the UK. One group member video calls him every day and we all exchange news and messages all day. It's lovely! The house has never been cleaner and Martin was lucky enough to get some paint on this week's shopping trip so he's now refreshing the decor! At least in the Campo one of us can dogwalk a bit..but poor Martin misses his cycling and Padel! Stay smiling xxx"

Wenn Duschen (mit Haaren!) zur Tagesaufgabe wird
Am siebten Tag im Lockdown hat sich das sonnige andalusische Wetter auch verabschiedet. Die letzten beiden Nächte hat es sehr geregnet, mit cirka 17 Grad ist es recht kühl. Nachdem der Winter bis einschließlich Februar warm, sonnig und angenehm war, fühlt sich das an wie eine zusätzliche "Bestrafung". Was soll's, Mutter Natur freut sich, die wilden Blümchen erstrahlen in bunten Farben, und erfreuen das Auge. Die Luft ist frisch und klar.
Heute wurde die Ausgangssperre in Spanien um 15 Tage verlängert, bis Oster-Sonntag, bis zum 12. April. Wir haben damit gerechnet. Wir gehen sogar von einer weiteren Verlängerung bis Ende April aus. Und ehrlich gesagt: Man gewöhnt sich daran. Und schafft sich neue Highlights! Bereits heute - Sonntag - haben wir begonnen den nächsten Einkauf zu planen. Am Dienstag soll es passieren, dieses Mal fahre ich in den Ort. Whoo-hoo! Wie aufregend..... Nie hätte ich gedacht das eine Einkaufstour mal zum wöchentlichen Highlight wird!
Und dann das Duschen! Ich gestehe, man wird ein wenig schlunzig, wenn man nur zu Hause hockt. Die Jogginghose ist im Dauer-Einsatz (meine Güte, wenn das Karl Lagerfeld noch erlebt hätte...). Und duschen wird Stunden im Vorfeld mit großem Trara angekündigt.
Weitere Freunde und Bekannte haben Spanien verlassen, und sind zurück in ihren Heimatländern. Jeanette schrieb gestern: "Wir sind Anfang der Woche auch 2 Wochen früher als geplant nach Deutschland zurückgefahren, da sich der Lockdown in Spanien ja doch noch länger hinziehen kann. Hier befinden wir uns praktisch in Selbstquarantäne #zuhausebleiben. Aber man darf durchaus mit Mindestabstand raus zum Sport machen oder Spazieren gehen. Das macht es viel erträglicher als in Spanien. Wir vermissen Torre und unsere neuen Freunde sehr. 😞 Im Herbst kommen wir auf jeden Fall (hoffentlich) wieder"
Conny berichtet vom Campingplatz Schließungen! "Wir sind auf dem Weg in die Schweiz da der Campingplatz schließt, wir hoffen im Herbst wieder in Torre zu sein! Alles Gute für alle!"
